My name is Kristine. I’ve been anything but thin most of my adolescent and adult life. This blog was originally started in 2008-2009, but I eventually pulled it down because I was writing a blog about getting thinner when I was doing anything but. Finally, in 2013, I found the not so magical combination of things that works for me and I’m actually getting thin, finally. Want to know my secret? It’s pretty simple, eat less in general, eat more of the foods that are good for you and exercise more. That’s basically it.
Since I had finally succeeded at doing what I’d been writing about in the past, I figured it was time to resurrect the blog. I will be revising some of the posts I wrote back when the blog first was live, and I’ll be adding new ones. My hope is that I’ll be able to start a discussion about getting healthy, body image and what it means to be overweight, particularly an overweight woman, in today’s world.
I don’t claim to have all, or any, of the answers when it comes to getting fit and healthy, but I have learned a few things. Hopefully I’ll be able to share them with you as we all work toward getting healthier.
Oh, and one note about the blog title. It really should be called “When I’m Fit” since that’s now my goal. I’ve realized that a number on a scale isn’t what matters, it’s how flexible and strong my body is and how much stamina I have. I could have changed the name of the blog, but decided to stick with When I’m Thin. That, after all, has always been the impossible dream. Luckily, it’s turned out not be so impossible after all.
